Here’s the math as to how it’s approximately 30x faster than therapy, and better than even trauma-informed coaching.

First: how fast is my alternative to therapy?

You can do the equivalent of Step 1 for free with most therapists, so let’s not count that. (Beware of the therapist who won’t meet you for 20 minutes for free!)

You could do Step 2+3 in half a week, total: Step 2 on a weekday evening, Step 3 on a 3-day weekend.

The fact that this work is so deep it’ll leave you sipinning for nine weeks, but in a good way, shouldn’t count against its expediency. Right?

Now: How much faster than therapy do you want it to be
when you think about rehashing trauma?

If you are okay with retelling traumatic memories without a 100% satisfaction or your money-back guarantee, certain therapy modalities (EMDR, RRT/ART) can help in a record low number of sessions — a good deal if you’re up for rehashing the original event, plus the total number of hours spent being facilitated is the same or less: I do whole-day sessions.

Coaching isn't faster --than therapy or anything else-- if it doesn't work

Coaching puts a lot on you to do something about your circumstances and affect the world around you — a tall order when you’re down in the dumps, burned out, or critical of everything. Even trauma-informed coaching often sends the message “snap out of it and do something.”

Coaching might be the opposite of therapy in that it focuses on the future, not the past, but it simply can’t address anything half as deeply as what I do. Coaching is, therefore, unnecessarily stressful.

Even if you could fake-it-til-you-make-it, training a new alter-ego to slip into when dating/relating (ick!) would be just as time-consuming as (and much more prone to disaster than) meandering session-by-session therapy.
